Another Walloon city in Belgium, Wavre is located in the Dyle Valley.
Although Wavre has been sacked and pillaged throughout the centuries, it has
never wavered.
Wavre is best known for a series of UFO sightings in 1990 but the church
of St. John the Baptist, built in 1475, is also a favourite attraction.
Other hot spots in Wavre include the city hall, built in the 18th century
and Walibi Amusement Park.
The city does celebrate a carnival, every Sunday following June 24th, but
the thought of Belgians getting down a la New Orleans is a somewhat
distressing image. |
