Saint-Brieuc (Brittany) Pop: 50,000

In northwest France on the Gouet and Gouedic Rivers, Saint-Brieuc is an industrial town specializing in textiles and metallurgy that was named after St. Briomach (Briocus), a Welsh missionary, circa the 5th century A.D.

It also attracts the tourist trade and its annual music festival alone draws 35,000 visitors. The city still retains many wood-sided homes displayed along stone-paved lanes.
