Russian Tours and Attractions

A great three hour tour exploring the Kremlin Grounds, Cathedrals and Patriarch's Palaces in Moscow. The small city in the center of Moscow, once the residence of Czars and Patriarchs, contains Russia's main cathedrals, Assumption Cathedral, Archangel's Cathedral and the Deposition of the Robe Cathedral. The Patriarch's Palace is a museum of seventeenth-century life and applied art, displaying ecclesiastical regalia, period furniture, gold and silver ware from Russia and Western Europe. The palace dates back to 1640 and incorporates the Church of the Twelve Apostles, which was the private place of worship for the patriarchs.
The tour begins with a stop at the Red Square and St. Basil's Cathedral, the architectural masterpiece and wonder of the 16th century. The tour then continues to Tretiakov Gallery and Bolotnaya ploshad, Christ Cathedral and the New Tretiakov Gallery. After driving up to Gorky Parkand Sparrow Hills (former Lenin Hills) you can enjoy a 30km panoramic view of Moscow and view the renowned Moscow State University before visiting Victory Park. The next stops will be at the Borodino Panorama, the New Maiden Convent and the New Maiden Cemetry. Continue to New Arbat Street to see an example of minimalist communist 60's style architecture, the White House of Russia, before a visit to Old Arbat Street, the most famous street in Moscow. On the way back to central Moscow the bus will stop at the Kremlin, Alexander Gardens, Manege and Okthoni Ryad Mall. During this 2 hour guided city tour you will also see the central historical part of Moscow and south-west of Moscow. The ticket is valid for 24 hours and you can join a later tour if you wish to spend more time at any of the allocated stops. There are a total of three tours making a circuit of the city daily. Peterhof is perhaps St. Petersburg's most famous and spectacular Imperial estate. The Grand Palace, filled with fascinating and elaborate interiors, sits on top of a high seashore ridge overlooking the vast Lower Park. The palace at Peterhof sits amidst an enormous park, adorned with fountains, statues and pavilions. The Upper Garden, located between the St. Petersburg highway and the Grand Palace, is a typical French-style formal garden with five fountains including one depicting Neptune, the God of the Sea. The estate's Lower Park lies between the Grand Palace and the seashore and boasts the world's largest system of fountains, earning it the title the "Russian Versaille." The park's unique
fountain system was designed in the 18th century and doesn't
require the use of any pumps to operate the fountains. The park's other cascades feature black and white chess board designs, Chinese dragons and numerous other features are definitely worth seeing.
Visit the magnificent summer residence of the Russian Tsars. A comfortable chauffeured drive will take you to the town of Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo), where you will find a jewel of Russian baroque- Catherine Palace with the Amber Room inside. This Palace is considered to be one of the world's wonders. A pleasant walk through the park will let you feel like you're an important guest in the Residence of an Empress. |
