Driving a car in Malta
The maximum speed Limit in Malta is
80 kph on the highway.
That's right, you read it correctly. Malta has one of the lowest maximum
speed limit in Europe at 80 kilometers per hour.
Cross border rentals are only allowed to Gozo, Malta's sister island.
All national and international driving licences are accepted in Malta.
Driving licence needs to be unendorsed and held for at least one year.
Minimum age for drivers is 21 years.
Maximum age is 75 years. Drivers over 70 years who are not EU citizens
need to provide a valid copy of doctor's certificate and driver's licence.
For drivers form EU- only a valid driving licence is required.
