Les-Baux-de-Provence Tours and Attractions, France
Considered a tourist site, not an actual commune, Les-Baux-de-Provence is precipitously scenic and professes an extraordinary history of royalty activities. The community is said to have inspired Dante in his place renderings in "Purgatory", and many artists, including Van Gogh. Set amidst spectacular boulder outcroppings to the south and dense forests to the north, the locale also features the Alpilles mountains as a backdrop. Access to the area is gained via a road constructed through solid rock that lends the appearance in places of slices carved randomly by some Titan's sword. Prominent features of Les-Baux-de-Provence include the elevated
chateau-fortress and primary village of medieval, cobblestone lanes offering
cafes, artisan wares, and souvenir shoppes. |
