Driving a Car in Germany Germany is famous for is its great beer but before you decide on that third (or second) pint, be aware the blood alcohol limit for drivers is .05 mg/ml. The Driver must have held a current driving licence for at least 1 year, the original driving licence must be presented at the time of rental, and it must be readable and unbroken. International driving licences are required for renters who present a non-EU driving licence which is not understandable and recognizable as a driving licence. International driving licences are only valid outside the country of origin and when presented along with the original driving licence, Minimum age for drivers is 21 years. Don't run out of gas on the autobahn. You will be given a ticket. Some traffic fines will be assessed and collected on the spot. Germany uses enforcement cameras so be careful not to speed, tailgate or run red lights. Also, although the autobahn is known as a road without speed limits, 130 km/h is suggested and, in many places, there are posted speed limits.

Cologne/Bonn International Airport

A positive recent development was the restructured, extended winter flight schedule with more domestic flights, business flights (Vienna, London, Hamburg), as well as connections to more holiday destinations.
