Wild and beautiful, Donegal is one of the least visited counties in Ireland.

To be fair, Clare, Galway, Mayo and Sligo are as fair as Donegal and stand in the way if you are hiring a car in Shannon and driving north.

Some of the oldest history in Ireland can be traced to Donegal. Two miles south of Raphoe is a megalithic monument called the Beltany Stone, dating from 2000 BC. It's no wonder Donegal has become a magnet for hill walkers and those who wish to see all the beauty of Ireland as of yet undisturbed.

There's a coastline in Donegal with cliffs arguably more grand then the Cliffs of Moher but most visitors to Ireland aren't aware of it. Take the extra week or so and visit Donegal.
