Driving a Car in Panama
It is not allowed to drive outside Panama.
Minimum age for drivers is 21 years. Drivers between
21-22 will be subject to a young drivers surcharge.
There is no upper age limit.
Travel Advisories and Warnings for Panama
It is relatively safe driving in Panama. The roads are
good but traffic regulation is practically non-existent.
Buses and taxis are good ways to travel around urban
areas but avoid the Diablo Rojos (red devils). These are low-rider buses
and are not suggested for the faint of heart.
Seatbelts are required for all passengers.
