The
spiritual capital of Ireland for 1,500 years and the seat of both Protestant and Catholic archbishops, County Armagh is one of the most holy of Irish cities.
We must caution travel there, however, because of ongoing problems.
St Patrick called Armagh, "my sweet hill," and built his stone church on the
hill where the Anglican cathedral now stands".
It is believed that in AD 445 St. Patrick founded his church on the Site of the present-day Church of Ireland Cathedral.
