Your mountain excursion begins with an unforgettable 90-minute drive through the picturesque Arve Valley from Geneva to Chamonix, at the foot of majestic Mont-Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps and Western Europe (15,770 feet/4,800 meters). Continuing to Aiguille du Midi, a rocky peak close to Mont Blanc with snow year-round, you'll reach the summit in just 20 minutes by a two-stage cable car. The panoramic views of the Chamonix Valley and the French, Swiss and Italian Alps are spectacular. In the direction of the Swiss Alps, on a clear day it's also possible to see the Mattherhorn, Toblerone chocolate's famous trademark mountain. There are many terraces and balconies up at the Aiguille du Midi where you can enjoy views of the magnificent mountain ranges and watch skiers zooming down towards the glacier. There's also a cafe at the summit where you can have a hot chocolate and perhaps enjoy a light snack (at own expense). After lunch in the village of Chamonix (included in the tour price), you'll take the comfortable electric railway to Montenvers, a vantage point with fine views of the Mer de Glace. This magnificent glacier is four miles (seven kilometers) long and averages just under a mile wide. You'll be riding the charming little red train that has been transferring passengers to the Montenvers site and the world-famous Mer de Glace glacier since 1908. Surrounded by the impressive summits of Les Drus, Les Grandes Jorasses and Les Grands Charmoz, the Montenvers site is the perfect place to learn about the largest French glacier and about nature in the Alps.
The coach will drive you across Lausanne through the breathtakingly beautiful countryside. Spend some time in Montreux, shopping and looking around the Christmas Market. Next head to the Castle of Chillon, one of the most famous monuments in Switzerland, perched by the Lake of Geneva. At the Castle of Chillon take a guided tour of the castle to learn more about its history.
Travel by deluxe coach to the resort town of Engelberg (Angel Mountain). You'll have time to wander around this pretty mountain village, make sure you don't miss the Baroque-style monastery that houses the largest organ in Switzerland. An excursion to the ever popular summer and winter resort in the heart of Central Switzerland. Engelberg (Angel Mountain) was originally founded by the Benedictines, and the imposing monastery dominates the center of the village. Enjoy a two or three hour independent stay in this lovely mountain village to relax or stroll. Return by coach via Lucerne back to Zurich.
Spend the afternoon getting to know the international city of Geneva. You'll take a tramway tour, cruise Geneva Lake and explore this important city close-up on a guided walking tour. After driving past Geneva's famous monuments and attractions, you'll take a panoramic drive highlighting Geneva's scenic lakeside location. Next, you'll get a taste of Geneva's history with the Tramway Tour, then dig even deeper into the Old Town by taking a walking tour with your guide. The tour ends with a one-hour cruise with commentary around Lake Geneva on the Cruise of the Mermaid. You'll see the famous Water Fountain and have views of the UN Building, the Castle of Bellerive and the Mermaid. Drinks will be offered onboard.
Explore the beautiful Swiss cities of Lausanne, Montreux and Chillon on an activity-packed day trip from Geneva. You'll drive through the beautiful Swiss countryside, enjoy free time in Lausanne and Montreux, and take a guided tour of the famous castle of Chillon. Your first stop is Lausanne, the cultural center of Switzerland. It's a beautiful city, surrounded by the Alps, and after an orientation tour you will have free time to take a stroll around the lake, visit the Olympic Museum, or whatever you please. In the afternoon, you'll take a drive the canton of Vaud and along the lake, passing the famous towns of Vevey and Montreux to reach Chillon Castle, one of Switzerland's most famous monuments. After your visit and guided tour of Chillon Castle, you'll enjoy a different perspective of the famous castle by boarding a traditional paddle boat for a short cruise on the lake. Finally, you'll have free time in Montreux to go for a walk around the town's streets, by the lakeside or do some shopping. On the return drive to Geneva drinks will be offered on the bus.
Get the best of both worlds on this full day trip to central Switzerland and Lucerne's old town. After a brief guided city tour, the rest of the day is yours for self exploration. Sit back and enjoy a beautiful coach ride over the Albis Pass and along the Lake of the Four Cantons shores to Lucerne. Upon your arrival, a short city tour will introduce you to the main highlights including the Lion Monument, Chapel Bridge and the new Concert and Congress Hall. This excursion takes you to the picturesque city of Lucerne. After a short orientation tour of the city you will proceed to a typical Old Town restaurant where traditional Swiss dishes will be served.
You will start with a cheese Fondue, followed by a hearty Bratwurst,
which is a veal sausage, and Roesti-potatoes. The meal and program lasts about two hours. The afternoon is yours for sightseeing and shopping before the bus will pick you up to return to Zurich.

Enjoy spectacular views of the Alps on your way to visit the rose gardens, deer park and castle in the village of Rapperswil, before enjoying a boat cruise on Lake Zurich. This tour shows you the most interesting sights of Zurich and its surroundings! Start with a guided city tour of Zurich which shows you the commercial center, a section of the Old Town, Fraumuenster Church with its famous Chagall windows, historical Limmatquai and the university district. Drive along the Hoehenstrasse which offers spectacular views into the Alps, we then drive to Rapperswil which is named the 'City of Roses'. The charming little town of Rapperswil offers unique attractions for visitors - the Rose Gardens, the Castle, the deer park on the Lindenhof and the picturesque Old Town. After a guided orientation tour and some time at leisure in Rapperswil, enjoy a 2-hour cruise on the Lake of Zurich (unescorted). There is a restaurant on board for your convenience. First possible boat back is scheduled to arrive at 3:15pm at Zurich Buerkliplatz Pier. Between November and March there are no boats operating, so you return to Zurich by modern train 'Gold Coast Express' along the romantic road that follows the lake-shore.
