Driving a Car in Fiji
Driving is on the left hand side of the road.
Only need a valid driver's license from your own country
to drive in Fiji.
Travel Advisories and Warnings
When passing through communities, watch out for
villagers who gather to sit and talk in small groups right by the side
of the road.
Also watch for wandering livestock, potholes that take a
long time getting fixed and speed bumps in villages that are more than
gentle reminders to slow down.
They can be quite large and cause damage
to the underside of your vehicle if you pass over them too quickly.
Night driving is particularly difficult outside the
urban areas.
Petrol is plentiful near major towns and cities but difficult to find
in the rural areas. Be sure and gas up when planning trips into less populated areas.
