Driving a Car in Croatia
Croatia has a zero tolerance level
for drinking and driving. Any blood alcohol can result in fines or
imprisonment.
We strongly suggest not driving in Croatia while drinking, even if
you've had drinks the night before.
A florescent vest is required in all vehicles to be worn
when doing repairs on the side of the road.
The speed limit is 130 kph on motorways, 110 kph on
major roads and 50 kph in "built-up" areas. All other roads have a 90 kph speed limit.
Drivers must have held a valid driving licence for at least 2
years.
The minimum age limit for driving in Croatia is 21.
